SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME

Scientific Programme

The preparation of the Scientific Programme for the SOE Congress in Amsterdam is at an advanced stage and includes symposia covering all aspects of ophthalmology, Instructional Courses, Free Papers, Poster Sessions and the always popular Programme for Nurses and Paramedical Personnel. It is now a tradition for the EUPO course for Residents to take place during the first two days of the SOE Congress.

Each day, a Key Note Lecture will be delivered by a leading world authority on specific topics. We are proud that Drs Marie-José Tassignon, Norbert Pfeiffer, Philip Rosenfeld and Geoffrey Rose have accepted our invitation to come to Amsterdam as the SOE Key Note Lecturers.

All the major European Sub-specialty societies have agreed to take part in the SOE 2009 and will provide most of the Symposia and Instruction Courses at the Congress. These include, among others, The European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), The European Glaucoma Society (EGS), Euretina, The European Society of Ophthalmic Reconstructive and Plastic Surgeons (ESOPRS), The European Fluorescein Angiography Club (FAN Club), The European Ophthalmic Pathology Society (EOPS), The European Contact Lens Society (ECLS), European Strabismological Association (ESA), The International Society on Ocular Inflammation, The European Oncology Group and The Club Jules Gonin.

SOE collaborates closely with all European Supranational organisations and we will hold Joint Symposia with The European Association for Vision and Eye Research (EVER), The European Union of Medical Specialties (UEMS), The European University Professors of Ophthalmology (EUPO) and The European Board of Ophthalmology (EBO).
